The Jurnal Konversi Energi dan Manufaktur was initially published to accommodate the ideas of lecturers in Mechanical Engineering Education at the Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Over time, this journal received articles from researchers outside the Universitas Negeri Jakarta.

It was first published in October 2013 in the printed version with ISSN number 2339-2029. After going through the printed publishing process for approximately 4 years, in February 2016 Jurnal Konversi Energi dan Manufaktur finally switched to an online journal with ISSN number 2622-5565 and published at https://journal.unj.ac.id/unj/index.php/jkem under the supervision of LPPM Universitas Negeri Jakarta.

Jurnal Konversi Energi dan Manufaktur was originally published using a 2-column writing format. Considering simplicity and focusing on the content of the writing, starting Vol. 6 No. 1 2019, the publication format was changed to one column.

Starting from Vol. 7 No. 1 2022, the Jurnal Konversi Energi dan Manufaktur uses a new template (dowload here)
