Inovasi Model Kompetisi Pendidikan untuk Penguatan Deep Learning: Studi Kasus di Lembaga Bina Prestasi Nusantara Olimnus

The era of Society 5.0 demands an educational transformation that not only focuses on academic achievement but also strengthens higher order thinking skills and meaningful learning (deep learning). However, learning practices in schools remain dominated by rote memorization and assessments based on lower order thinking skills, limiting opportunities for deeper cognitive engagement. This condition encourages the emergence of alternative learning ecosystems outside formal education, one of which is educational competitions. This study analyzes how competitions organized by Lembaga Bina Prestasi Nusantara (Olimnus) contribute to developing a deep learning–oriented model and academic talent development. Using a descriptive case study approach through document analysis, test blueprint evaluation, observation, and participant testimonials, the findings reveal that Olimnus implements challenge-based learning, HOTS-oriented assessments, and a nonformal learning cycle involving practice, competition, and reflection. These competitions not only enhance academic outcomes but also foster soft skills such as confidence, resilience, and problem-solving abilities.
