Eksplorasi Repost Sebagai Representasi Diri di Media Sosial

Perkembangan media baru, khususnya TikTok, telah mengubah cara individu untuk mengekspresikan diri. Fitur repost menjadi salah satu cara populer bagi penggunanya untuk membagikan konten yang dibuat orang lain dalam linimasa mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami motivasi di balik penggunaan fitur repost TikTok sebagai bentuk pengungkapan diri (self-disclosure) di kalangan Generasi Z. Dengan pendekatan kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui observasi dan wawancara semi terstruktur terhadap tiga informan berusia 19-24 tahun yang merupakan mahasiswa Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia yang rutin menggunakan fitur repost TikTok. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa repost bukan hanya aktivitas pasif, melainkan bentuk komunikasi simbolik yang mencerminkan kondisi emosional, pengalaman pribadi, dan identitas sosial pengguna. Aktivitas ini memberikan rasa lega dan mengisyaratkan bahwa pengguna tidak sendirian dalam pengalaman yang dialami. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa repost berfungsi sebagai sarana representasi diri dan validasi emosi, menjadikan TikTok sebagai media reflektif dan sosial, bukan hanya hiburan.
