2. Governance and Management
- The publisher, through the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law, appoints the Editor-in-Chief, who holds full responsibility for the journal’s content, editorial decisions, peer review process, and publication ethics.
- The Editor-in-Chief serves a term of four years, renewable once. Other members of the editorial team (Managing Editor and Associate/Handling Editors) are appointed by the Editor-in-Chief for renewable terms of three years, based on their expertise and commitment.
- The editorial team consists of the Editor-in-Chief, a Managing Editor, and an international board of Associate/Handling Editors from Indonesia, the United Kingdom, the United States, Malaysia, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Libya, Tunisia, and India. The current composition is listed on the Editorial Team page.
- All editors declare their conflicts of interest annually, in accordance with the journal’s Conflict of Interest Policy.
3. Editorial Independence
- Editorial decisions are based solely on scholarly merit, originality, relevance to the journal’s scope, and the results of peer review.
- The publisher, the partner associations, and any funder have no influence over the acceptance, rejection, or content of manuscripts.
- Manuscripts from UNJ authors, including members of the editorial team, receive no preferential treatment. They undergo the same double-blind peer review and are handled by an editor with no conflict of interest. The journal monitors the proportion of articles by in-house authors in each issue.
- Payment of the Article Processing Charge, or any waiver, does not affect editorial decisions.
4. Financing
- The journal is financed by the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law, Universitas Negeri Jakarta and by Article Processing Charges (APCs).
- The APC is IDR 1,000,000 (USD 63) and is payable only after the editor accepts the manuscript for further processing. No fee is charged for submission or peer review. Details are on the Article Processing Charge page.
- Revenue is used for peer review management, editing, layout, publishing, website maintenance, DOI registration, digital archiving, and providing immediate open access.
- The journal does not publish advertisements or sponsored content. See also the Revenue Sources, Sponsorship Disclosure, and Advertising Policy pages.
5. Operations and Quality Assurance
