TOKOH ENOLA HOLMES SEBAGAI INSPIRASI PENCIPTAAN READY TO WEAR DELUXE VICTORIAN STYLE DENGAN TEKNIK EMBELLISHMENT

Abstract

Abstrak: Victorian style merupakan gaya busana yang berkembang pada era Victoria dan dikenal dengan cara berpakaiannya yang mencerminkan kesopanan, penggunaan hiasan yang dekoratif, dan desain yang rumit. Penciptaan karya ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya kebutuhan eksplorasi visual busana estetika Victoria ke dalam bentuk yang lebih modern dan nyaman. Pemilihan tokoh Enola Holmes dijadikan inspirasi utama karena merepresentasikan dekonstruksi terhadap ciri khas busana era Victoria yang cenderung mengekang. Penciptaan ini bertujuan untuk menciptakan koleksi busana yang dapat mencerminkan karakter tersebut dengan memadukan kenyamanan dan kepraktisan busana modern khas Era Victoria ke dalam kategori ready to wear deluxe. Ciri khas kemewahan era tersebut dipertahankan melalui aplikasi teknik embellishment yang detail, seperti sulam pita dan beading yang berfungsi menambah nilai estetika dan keunikan pada setiap busana. Metode penciptaan yang digunakan dalam perancangan mengacu pada metode S.P. Gustami, dengan tiga tahapan yaitu eksplorasi, perancangan, dan perwujudan. Hasil dari penciptaan ini berupa enam looks busana ready to wear deluxe disajikan dalam event fashion show pada Jogja Fashion Parade 2026. Koleksi ini diharapkan dapat memadukan kenyamanan dan kepraktisan busana modern dengan kemewahan serta detail khas era Victoria, khususnya melalui penggunaan teknik embellishment.

Abstract: The Victorian style refers to a fashion style that developed during the Victorian era and is characterized by modest dressing, elaborate decorative embellishments, and intricate designs. The creation of this collection was inspired by the need to explore the visual aesthetics of Victorian fashion in a form that is more modern and comfortable. The character of Enola Holmes was chosen as the primary inspiration because she represents a deconstruction of the restrictive characteristics commonly associated with Victorian-era clothing. This project aims to create a ready-to-wear deluxe fashion collection that reflects Enola Holmes' character by combining the comfort and practicality of modern clothing with the distinctive aesthetics of the Victorian era. The luxurious essence of the period is preserved through the application of detailed embellishment techniques, such as ribbon embroidery and beading, which enhance the aesthetic value and uniqueness of each garment. The creative process follows S.P. Gustami's methodology, consisting of three stages: exploration, design, and realization. The outcome of this project is a collection of six ready-to-wear deluxe looks, presented at the Jogja Fashion Parade 2026 fashion show. This collection is expected to successfully integrate the comfort and practicality of modern fashion with the luxury and intricate details characteristic of the Victorian era, particularly through the use of embellishment techniques.
