Ethic Statement

Sarwahita: Jurnal Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat is committed to maintaining high standards of publication ethics, academic integrity, transparency, and accountability. This statement is based on the principles and recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and applies to authors, editors, reviewers, and other parties involved in the journal's publication process.

The journal is committed to ensuring that all manuscripts are handled fairly, objectively, confidentially, and in accordance with accepted standards of scholarly publishing.

Duties and Responsibilities of Editors

Fair Play and Editorial Independence
Editors evaluate submitted manuscripts based on their scholarly merit, originality, relevance, methodological soundness, clarity, and alignment with the scope of Sarwahita. Editorial decisions are made without discrimination based on authors' personal characteristics, institutional affiliations, or other irrelevant considerations.

Editors maintain editorial independence and ensure that publication decisions are based on scholarly quality, the peer-review process, and applicable ethical standards.

Confidentiality
Editors and editorial staff must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and related editorial communications. Manuscript information may only be shared with individuals involved in the editorial process or other authorized parties when necessary.

Unpublished information obtained through the editorial process must not be used for personal advantage or research purposes without the appropriate authorization.

Conflicts of Interest
Editors must disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest relevant to a manuscript. Editors with a relevant conflict must not participate in the evaluation or decision-making process for that manuscript.

Publication Decisions
Editors are responsible for making publication decisions based on the quality, originality, significance, and relevance of manuscripts, taking into account peer-review reports and applicable ethical requirements.

Editors must ensure that manuscripts are assessed consistently and that authors receive appropriate editorial decisions and feedback.

Ethical Oversight
Editors are responsible for addressing ethical concerns arising during the editorial process and for ensuring that relevant journal policies are followed. Concerns relating to research or publication misconduct, post-publication discussions, and retractions are handled in accordance with the journal's respective policies.

Duties and Responsibilities of Reviewers

Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Peer review assists editors in assessing the quality, validity, originality, and relevance of submitted manuscripts. Reviewers are expected to provide constructive feedback that helps authors improve their work.

Confidentiality
Reviewers must treat manuscripts received for review as confidential documents. Manuscripts and information obtained during the review process must not be shared or discussed with unauthorized individuals.

Reviewers must not use unpublished information or ideas obtained through peer review for personal research or advantage.

Objectivity and Constructive Review
Reviews must be conducted objectively, professionally, and respectfully. Reviewers should provide clear, evidence-based comments and avoid personal criticism of authors.

Acknowledgement of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been appropriately cited and inform the editor of any substantial similarity or overlap with other works of which they are aware.

Conflicts of Interest
Reviewers must disclose relevant conflicts of interest before accepting a review invitation and decline assignments when their impartiality may be compromised. Further requirements are provided in the journal's Conflicts of Interest policy.

Timeliness
Reviewers should complete their assessments within the agreed timeframe. If they are unable to do so, they should promptly inform the editor.

Duties and Responsibilities of Authors

Originality and Proper Citation
Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts represent original work and that all sources, ideas, data, and materials derived from other works are properly acknowledged and cited.

Authors must obtain permission where required for the use of copyrighted or otherwise restricted materials.

Multiple or Concurrent Submission
Authors must not submit the same manuscript simultaneously to more than one journal. Previously published work must not be presented as an original publication.

Any permitted secondary publication must comply with applicable publication ethics standards and be appropriately disclosed.

Accuracy and Integrity of Research and Community Service Activities
Authors must report their research and community service activities honestly and accurately. Methods, data, results, and outcomes must not be fabricated, falsified, or intentionally misrepresented.

Authors should retain relevant supporting materials and provide clarification or documentation when reasonably requested by the editors.

Authorship and Contributorship
Authorship must reflect substantial intellectual contributions to the work. All listed authors must:

1. Make a significant contribution to the conception, design, implementation, data collection, analysis, or interpretation of the work.
2. Contribute to drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content.
3. Approve the final version of the manuscript.
4. Agree to be accountable for the integrity and accuracy of the work.

Individuals who contributed to the work but do not meet the authorship criteria should be appropriately acknowledged, with their permission.

The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all eligible contributors are appropriately included in the author list and that all authors approve the submitted manuscript.

Conflicts of Interest and Funding Disclosure
Authors must disclose actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest that may influence their work. All relevant sources of financial or material support for the research or community service activities must also be disclosed.

Ethical Considerations and Informed Consent
Authors are responsible for ensuring that research and community service activities comply with applicable ethical standards and institutional requirements.

Activities involving human participants, personal data, photographs, interviews, surveys, or other potentially sensitive information must respect participants' rights, privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.

Where required, authors must obtain appropriate ethical approval and informed consent. Identifying information must not be published without appropriate consent or another valid ethical and legal basis.

Acknowledgement of Sources
Authors must appropriately acknowledge sources, contributions, and assistance that have supported the development of their work. Confidential communications and privileged information must not be used without appropriate permission.

Cooperation During Peer Review
Authors are expected to respond to editorial and reviewer comments professionally and within the specified timeframe. They may be asked to provide supporting data, clarifications, ethical approval, consent documentation, or other information relevant to the evaluation of their manuscript.

Corrections to Published Work
Authors who discover a significant error in their published work must promptly notify the editorial team and cooperate in resolving the matter in accordance with the journal's applicable publication ethics policies.
