Abstract

National Anthems are an integral part of the nation's cultural heritage, containing educational, historical, and ideological values passed down from generation to generation. These songs function not only as musical works of art but also as a medium for conveying moral messages, strengthening national identity, and internalizing national values. However, in the era of globalization, marked by the penetration of global popular culture, changes in the lifestyles of the younger generation, and the dominance of digital technology, the sustainability of the National Anthem's educational function faces various challenges. Younger generations tend to be more familiar with modern music, digital content, and global culture, resulting in a gradual decline in interest in the National Anthem. This paper aims to examine the urgency of preserving and developing the National Anthem as a strategic effort to strengthen nationalism among the younger generation. The method used is descriptive-qualitative, relying on data collection techniques such as document studies, observation, and interviews. The analysis technique is carried out using interactive techniques through data condensation, data presentation, and conclusions.The discussion includes an analysis of internal and external challenges affecting the relevance of national songs today, as well as the important role of educational institutions in integrating these songs into arts and culture learning. Furthermore, this study offers concrete strategies that adapt to current developments, such as revitalizing musical arrangements, utilizing digital platforms, innovating learning media, and cross-sector collaboration between educators, the government, the arts community, and the community. With a creative and contextual approach, the National Anthem can once again become an effective instrument for instilling patriotic values, strengthening national identity, and building the character of a young generation with a national perspective.
