Post-Publication Discussion
The IJLECR (International Journal of Language Education and Cultural Review) is committed to promoting transparency, academic integrity, critical scholarly dialogue, and continuous improvement in scientific publishing. In accordance with the ethical principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), IJLECR recognizes post-publication discussion as an essential component of scholarly communication. The journal encourages researchers, academics, readers, and other stakeholders to engage in constructive discussions, provide critical evaluations, and raise legitimate concerns regarding articles published in IJLECR. Post-publication discussions aim to strengthen the reliability, validity, and scholarly contributions of published research while maintaining professional and ethical standards.
1. Scope of Post-Publication Discussion
IJLECR welcomes scholarly discussions concerning the theoretical foundations, research methodologies, data analysis, interpretation of findings, conclusions, and implications of published articles. Discussions may include constructive criticism, alternative interpretations, methodological clarifications, replication findings, and concerns about research integrity. All comments and discussions must be evidence-based, academically relevant, respectful, and free from personal attacks, discriminatory statements, or unsupported allegations.
2. Submission of Comments and Scholarly Feedback
Readers, researchers, and other interested parties may submit post-publication comments, questions, or concerns to the IJLECR editorial office through the official journal email at ijlecr@unj.ac.id. Submissions should clearly identify the relevant article, including its title, author(s), publication year, volume, issue, and DOI, where available. Contributors should provide a clear explanation of their comments or concerns, supported by relevant scholarly evidence or references. The editorial team will assess submissions for relevance, academic merit, and compliance with publication ethics before determining the appropriate response or further action.
3. Author Responses and Academic Dialogue
Authors of published articles may be invited to respond to scholarly comments, criticisms, or requests for clarification concerning their research. IJLECR encourages authors to provide timely, transparent, and evidence-based responses that contribute to constructive academic dialogue. Authors are expected to address substantive concerns professionally and provide additional explanations, supporting information, or relevant documentation when necessary. Where appropriate, the journal may facilitate communication between the parties involved while ensuring fairness, confidentiality, and editorial independence.
4. Editorial Evaluation and Follow-Up
The IJLECR editorial team will evaluate post-publication discussions and concerns according to their academic relevance, supporting evidence, and potential implications for the integrity of the published research. When necessary, the editorial team may consult independent experts, request clarification from the authors, or conduct further assessment. Concerns involving possible research misconduct, plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or other ethical violations will be handled in accordance with relevant COPE guidance. Editorial decisions will be based on available evidence, procedural fairness, and the need to maintain the reliability of the scholarly record.
5. Corrections, Expressions of Concern, and Retractions
When post-publication discussions identify significant errors or concerns affecting a published article, IJLECR may take appropriate corrective action. Minor or substantive errors that do not invalidate the overall findings may be addressed through a formal correction. An expression of concern may be issued when serious questions about the integrity or reliability of an article remain unresolved. Retraction may be considered when reliable evidence demonstrates that the findings are fundamentally unreliable or that serious publication ethics violations have occurred. All corrective actions will be conducted transparently, appropriately linked to the original article, and guided by COPE recommendations.
6. Transparency and Publication of Discussions
IJLECR supports the transparent communication of scholarly discussions and editorial outcomes when appropriate. Substantive comments, author responses, corrections, or editorial notices may be published on the journal's website when they contribute to the scientific record and comply with applicable ethical, legal, and confidentiality requirements. The editorial team reserves the right to moderate submissions and decline comments that are irrelevant, defamatory, abusive, misleading, or unsupported by credible evidence. Personal information and confidential materials will be protected throughout the process.
7. Continuous Scholarly Engagement
IJLECR recognizes that scholarly evaluation continues beyond the initial peer-review and publication stages. Through post-publication discussion, the journal seeks to encourage critical thinking, research transparency, methodological improvement, and responsible academic communication. Authors, reviewers, readers, and researchers are encouraged to participate in constructive scholarly exchanges that strengthen the quality, credibility, and international visibility of research published in IJLECR.
