Abstract

This study aims to determine the learning concentration of students, factors that affect low learning concentration, and teachers' efforts to increase learning concentration in science learning. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with 51 students in grade IV of Torsina II Private Elementary School Singkawang. Data collection techniques use questionnaires and interviews. The results of the study show that the overall learning concentration of students is in the high category with a percentage of 70.29%. However, there are still 6 students who are in the low category. Factors that affect low concentration include internal factors, namely low interest and motivation, cognitive unpreparedness, physical fatigue, and emotional conditions, as well as external factors in the form of less varied learning methods and uncomfortable classroom environments. Teachers' efforts are carried out through a variety of learning methods, ice breaking, motivation and reinforcement, and learning readiness checks
