Focus
BIOMA is a national, peer-reviewed, open-access journal that publishes significant and high-quality research with a focus on wide range of biosciences and biological dynamics in the Indonesian region. Indonesia represents a highly important tropical area for global biological research. Its geology, which comprises components of East Asian and Papuasian origins, with the Wallacea region positioned between them, has driven unique biological evolution. Consequently, advances in biological research in this region make a substantial contribution to the development of global biosciences.
Scope
BIOMA welcomes contributions across the full spectrum of biological sciences, embracing fields such as biodiversity and conservation biology, biosystematics and evolutionary biology, ecology and environmental science, physiology and developmental biology, ethology and behavioral ecology, genetics and genomics, biotechnology and applied biology, microbiology and immunology, botany and plant sciences, zoology and animal biology, virology and infectious disease biology, as well as human biology and biomedical sciences. By encompassing molecular, organismal, and ecosystem-level perspectives, BIOMA provides a comprehensive platform for advancing scientific discovery, fostering conservation strategies, and promoting the sustainable management of biological resources. While the journal’s scope is wide-ranging, it remains firmly anchored in the core of biology, ensuring that every contribution deepens our understanding of life and its diverse systems
