Abstract

This study aims to describe how egalitarian leadership is implemented as the foundation for team development in an educational institution. A descriptive narrative qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews involving two key informants holding strategic managerial roles. The findings reveal that egalitarian leadership is manifested through deliberative decision-making, transparent communication across units, and fluid social interactions between leaders and staff. Additional results show that this leadership practice strengthens interpersonal trust, stimulates individual initiative, enhances cross-team collaboration, and produces organizational innovations driven by staff participation. The study recommends expanding the adoption of egalitarian leadership practices in other educational institutions to reinforce team performance, foster collective leadership, and cultivate adaptive and innovation-driven work environments.
