Analisis Kritis Tentang Integrasi Kurikulum Pesantren Modern dan Peningkatan Kualitas Pembelajaran

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of integrating modern pesantren curricula in improving learning quality through a systematic review of 60 national and international publications from 2019–2024. Using a systematic literature review method, this research examines integration patterns, teachers’ epistemological readiness, institutional structures, and the role of digital technology. The findings reveal that curriculum integration has shifted from an administrative approach toward epistemological integration, with the connected and webbed models emerging as dominant patterns proven to strengthen the coherence of religious and general knowledge. Other findings emphasize that teacher readiness is a determining factor of success, while the kyai’s leadership plays a central role in guiding knowledge legitimacy and policy adjustment. Digital technology functions as a cognitive enabler, although its utilization remains limited to administrative purposes and has not fully supported epistemic reconstruction. Theoretically, this study proposes the Integrated Curriculum Effectiveness Index as a multidimensional evaluative framework. The study’s limitations include the dominance of qualitative literature, the geographically concentrated scope primarily in Southeast Asia, and the lack of empirical testing of the proposed framework. Therefore, future studies are recommended to validate the model using a mixed-method approach and expand data coverage across regions and pesantren typologies.
